I figure as much but now it won't stop shutting the PC off while it finalizes install process. So confusing. Any ideas?
I don't think I need to. I think I got it with a Win 7 install. Will see how stable it runs but I'm looking at a login screen right now.
Or not. Worked fine up until I used the activator, then it restarted the PC and would shut it off any time I tried booting. Don't get an option to boot in safe mode either.
Scratch that! Got it working! I LOVE YOU ALL! Just need to get a job to afford a real copy of Windows....
Maybe too soon for excitement. Refuses to stay on longer than 5 minutes with my GPU in, thinking I need a new one (it did have a fan that was spinning slower than the other one), and now with using on board graphics it stays on until it gets too hot I guess. CPU struggles just with TS - sets the load to like 100 percent. So I guess it heats up pretty quickly and ends up shutting down the PC?
Could download something like CPU-z and check your thermals or check in the bios at your temps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Already doing that, was just about to edit that post actually. Using integrated graphics 3000 or whatever, so I guess that screwed me over. Acorn was like 'ewwwww integrated' Anyway, so far it's at ~90 C, min ~60 c, max ~100 C. Seems like forums uses up 10 percent CPU usage and makes heat climb fast so hoping off until it cools back down a bit.
Think I found a temporary solution for my overheating issue... Assuming it's only because of load and I don't need to get a new fan, I found a cheap card that should get me on my own PC again - won't be doing the same gaming I was though. But at least I'll be able to pass the card down to my brother when I'm done with it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125444 Just hope I don't pop it in and still see heat issues - if that's the case, guess I'll be buying a Noctua fan and getting some good thermal paste. But I should be able to afford it with whatever first paycheck I get, assuming I work some decent hours during those first few days - and I'll likely get the job tomorrow.
