Most badass URL ever: http://xxx.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx/ I feel really old when I realize I've wanted to attend one of these for 20 years. If anyone has the means to, I'd suggest it - should be tons of fun and educational. I'm not going to make it this year, but hopefully next.
That sounds awesome! Somewhat related, at my last job, they would host hacking events. It was pretty neat. They'd setup a private network with servers you were allowed to hack, and difference servers had diffrent goals. One goal might be to grab something from /etc/passwd, another might be to exploit a website to get user data. They'd put us into teams and we'd work together to complete the goals. The tops teams moved on up the ladder, and the last few teams got hosted at Mountain View for some finals. Forgot what the prize was, but it was kinda neat. We didn't win, but it was sure a lot of fun.
