I'll just leave it at you've been MIA from TS for awhile now.

 

again .. I still talk to people everyday - just because you and I aren't holding hands - doesn't mean it isn't happening.

 

I view the logs every day..... Forums don't count.

 

I think you and I should refrain from communicating with each other in this thread. We will just monopolise the thread with... nothing.

 

Tossing a few surgical responses out this morning because the snip snip is a pain in the arse on my phone. And this post is liable to grow as the forum auto-merges replies.

It does matter because this community needs help, and any examples of working systems are valid inputs to the discussion.

A) Nothing is accomplished by you playing stalker with others' activity logs and nothing is contributed to the conversation by you throwing that up in our faces. B) You may want to rethink that statement; the forums bloody well do count being the single most accessible communications channel for all members. Browser from any device, mobile apps, no voice or extra hardware. TS is a useful tool but the forum should be the place we're coming together as a group and the one place that participation is essential.

I'm just asking that we try and be brief. If more words are needed to make your point, that's fine. Use as few as possible to deliver all the information, and everyone needs to pay attention to what we're all saying, as well.

As for being heard -- Yeah, we've had issues with that lately. That's why we're here, though - air the dirty laundry, so to speak. Get it figured out.

 

Whether it's another clan or community there are always a few people that end up butting heads, you may not see it publicly but it happens. I agree the community needs help, I also think it's time the triumvirate gets together and weeds out any who they consider needs to be gone. Spring cleaning if you will. Just my thoughts

 

I get what you're saying there, but on the flipside if they don't come participate in the forums they can't get a say in things, you know? It's a double-edged sword.

Not everyone can participate frequently in TS3. Me, for example -- The majority of my online time is in my office at work. I can sometimes chat for a bit, but not often and I usually have to leave abruptly. At home I have three kids and a fiancee and it's either crazy loud, I'm trying to spend time with them, or I need some bloody sleep. Other members we've had recently didn't have voice hardware for monetary reasons. In the past we've had deaf members. Basically, the forum is the only communication channel that is accessible to every single member. If you have a PC, any PC, or even just a mobile, you should be able to get in here. So this should be the first stop for working stuff out. The fact that it hasn't been is a contributing factor, I think.

This isn't targeted at you - I know you're around here a fair amount. But a large portion of the participants in the problems discussed here are seldom here and haven't visited this thread. I'm all for trying to smooth things over, but it'd be bloody nice if they would step up here and help.

 

My way of thinking would be that the website is the base of operations where everyone should be first to post anything on their mind whether public or private convo. Teamspeak should be solely used for talking to each other while gaming, not fighting with each other.

I don't think Culling will fix the unreasonable expectation we have that everyone should just somehow get along with everyone. Changing that and perhaps the need for a wider array of moderators and perhaps a less vice like grip on the rulebook would go some way to setting us on the right path.

Can we just have our banner say Less QQ more Pew Pew ?

If Im shooting people in the face or requesting enemy positions and all I here is some fuckwit talking over me, I want to be able to call them a fuckwit, and to tell them to shut the fuck up or get the fuck out without it hurting their feelings. It is after all the war room.

I think you missed some of that convo, Saib - I said he was MIA from Teamspeak for awhile, he said he talks to people everyday, and that's where the whole 'forums don't count.' thing came into play. It's not a comment about the forums aren't important, as they are, but rather when trying to insist you talk to people everyday after trying to counter a point about being MIA from Teamspeak - forums don't count! Teamspeak is where all the drama is, not the forums. He got his first bit of dose of it that I know of the other day and basically ignored it, as far as I know. Well done, Sandy, well done. But I was also trying to avoid being harsh and 'attacking' with my rebuttals, short and succinct.

Other than all that, I essentially agree with most of what has been said during my sleep. You guys are geniuses.

After reading and rereading these posts, I believe we are slowing coming together. Although, it would be nice to have some more participation from everyone else, unless they are just reading and choosing not to respond.

That's a key thing. To be honest, I'm very attentive to the points mentioned by many people here in the forums and I recognize that some things need to be changed. But for those who (according to the 2nd hand stories I hear) are complaining everywhere except the forums... I'm real tempted to shrug it aside. This is our home, and this is where we've been asking people to bring their issues for If you don't want to come in here and talk, either for the important issues or just to shoot the , share screenies, talk about games... Well, I'm not really feeling that you're trying very hard to even be a part of PR.
