Life was simpler back then. And even at the start of the current revamp, we seemed to still be pretty tight knit - all moving from game to game together. Mostly.

Now, everyone's all grown up and moving out. *snif* Well.. Moving out at least.

@King8Bit I have a gut feeling this is not over....I think we should let it go till Monday morning. People work and whatnot, which would make it difficult for members to participate...since it is Friday I think if we let it still be open, we can refer to members of PR that are usually on the weekend to take a look at the forums. If we encourage such actions it will be a big plus to hear from those we do not normally hear from. I do not work today, so I would be glad to participate in such acknowledgements. I have gut feeling that we should keep this open a bit longer. Not everyone can participate during the week. while working/school/other. What do you guys think?

Everyone just says, no one really encourages participation. I just feel encouragement would help incredulously in forum participation.

I agree, sincerely. I don't want to raise my neck but I'm in the military and still able to participate during the week whether it's 1-2 maybe 3 times. Granted others will be in the same situation given the reason you just said which is fine.

However, members who do not post at all or choose not to speak out then there is a problem.

Other than that, you're correct and sure why not, let's keep this open a little longer then.

This is what I think such actions are based on, think of it this way. It's like getting a first kiss or more... It's always an "adventure" cause you really have no idea what you are doing. This analogy I am trying to make is how new members are sent a message welcome to the clan, but this message is only sent via the forums...being honest here i never really used to use the forums untill believe it or not @Abaddon (my cousin) had encourage me to use them for information. Lets try encouragement for newer members and a simple reminder for those that are on teamspeak but not the forums, doesn't hurt to try. lets try this for awhile and see if we can get a better participation record.with me?

Giving a few extra days is no problem. Not like we're on a tight schedule.

As for encouragement.. I think a lot of encouragement could come from the forums simply being an active place. It's a chicken / egg sorta thing. We need activity here to attract more activity here.

As it is members are required to join and post to apply, and theoretically they shouldn't be approved for membership without showing activity in here... But we haven't been enforcing that and we haven't been encouraging that (we even put it in writing last time we talked about this that the specialists of whatever game had recruiter newbies had a responsibility to bring the recruits around the forums, but it doesn't seem to be happening).

Right now, other than grumbling in here I'm not sure what to do to increase participation. One thing - I don't plan on voting Yes on any more applicants who haven't been posting in here. But that's not going to do it alone, especially when recruitment hasn't really been high lately.

Hoping to recruit more cool people from the DayZ server when its all set up and opened up to the public.

I tend to generate ts convos based off things I read in the forums. When its brought up, questions are asked, and I refuse to answer. I tell them read the forums. As annoyed as people get sometimes my stubbornness has brought more eyes to the forums. Thats all I can do.

I still have my Halo cd, case, key, and box.

But @Abaddon there is a difference whena simple answer is asked and it could be answered with a simple reply. Now I understand when you say you should read the forums for something major, like which is the best showgun/sniper etc yes that could be worthy enough to read the forums but as far as a question like whats the server IP that could be easily answered with a simple reply. Yes it's in the forums.

As for that I completely agree, I have even found myself to hit the yes button because I like the person in general, when I should be paying attention to how active the person is. As you make the point lots of us need to start paying attention to the details instead of just auto assuming...
With that being said I understand lots of players that er not in the forums because they are busy another thing. That is completely acceptable it's not the persons fault for that being the reason due to inactivity. But I have noticed there are some people here that hold a title higher then I have (not being a bitch here, but merely pointing out an example) and have only said 13 messages in the forums, now I understand their participation in the TS server, but don't you think they should be doing a better job backing up that title in the forums? Yes you may be the admin of "such and such" and participate but shouldn't that person be actively reading, participating, and even posting about what they admin?

As far as participation goes, I am actively participating here in the forums, I am sorry that lately I have not been on TS/Steam/Playing games, but that is not my fault, for the time being I am trying to save up for a new computer. (I made a post about this the other day) Started with minecraft crashing my computer everytime I tried to play it (again unsure why this keeps happening) now it crashes whenever a graphically advanced games is started.

And participation I think would be increased if a friendly reminder is the message on TS for a bit. I think some of the awarenesss would be a good deal. Also I completely understand that a person doesn't always have to participate in something or would rather remain quiet. That is life, but as for some people not being on here, is based off on a tad bit of lazyness. (what I perceive some of this to be) If I am wrong please correct me.

Yeah, I think for me it'll be "Oh, x has been here for a month already? Hold on, let me check how active he's been on the forums - oh I see he hasn't really posted anything... We need to be active in game/TS AND the forums guys, I'm not putting up promotion votes until it happens." Seeing a small section of the community step forward and post their thoughts/opinions or at least rate posts on a topic like this kinda has me going 'ehhhhh....'

Granted, I also think some parts of this discussion deserves a more appropriate area, such as the Member's Only section, but that's just me.

I suppose you do have a point, but then again, maybe making this open will give those who just lurk something to think about?

Maybe so - call me overly paranoid about how we look in the public's eye if you want. Just don't want to scare off potential recruits from anything we're currently working on and ironing out. I mean, I know when I'm looking to join a new clan/community, I basically go through and read everything.

    You are very paranoid, indeed.

Anyways, I have been away for quite some time now. So, I am basically new to everything which has happened. That is why I haven't really posted anything.

But you're online gaming, right? So stop in and say hi! Hanging in the forum is the low effort way to keep in touch. No sitting in ts talking for ages, just spend five minutes skimming stuff, jump in with a post or two and peace out! If we all gave the forum five minute a day this place would be booming. Instead, about 75% of our members don't give it five minutes a week.

Very true, I'll try to be more active. I actually didn't notice this thread until a day ago. I'll try my best to actually hop on the forums, after being out of the loop for quite sometime. I struggle with that, something which I need to work on.
