Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter is a free-to-play MMORPG with an awesome combat style similar to GW2. I highly recommend anyone interested in fantasy MMORPGs to give this game a try, it is excellent. Trenttos and I were really into it for a while until we were distracted by other games. I'd love to get back into it after their new update that added new content, abilities, and especially the new HUNTER RANGER CLASS (that's a ranger also wielding dual swords! #EpicWin). The Shadowmantle update is a huge addition to the game! Update information. If you wanna give it a try, you have to download their Arc Launcher used to download the game. Update: You can now download the game through Steam! About Neverwinter Story One hundred years have passed since the Spellplague forever changed the magical and mysterious lands of Faerûn. Mighty empires fell and great cities toppled, leaving only monster-haunted ruins and survivors struggling to rebuild. The city of Neverwinter, the Jewel of the North, seemed blessed by the gods. While the rest of the Sword Coast was devastated by the event, Neverwinter survived largely intact. But this was only a temporary reprieve from its inevitable doom. Nearly 75 years later, a volcanic eruption rained fire, ash and molten fury upon the city, annihilating everything in its wake. Today, Neverwinter has restored much of its former glory. Lord Neverember of Waterdeep has taken the city under his protection and put forth a call to all adventurers and heroes of the Savage North to help rebuild Neverwinter in the hopes that one day he can lay claim to her throne and crown. But evil forces conspire in the dark places of the world, seeking to undermine all... I remember having a blast back in NWN, essentially the first graphical MMO. I don't really have the time to get that buried in a game anymore, though it was fun.
I tried playing NWN 1 &2 recently, it reminded me of Minecraft lol. Graphics are too poor to be playable for me. I also got SERIOUS lag, which many other players experienced as well. Modern PC's are just too good to run an old game like that. Neverwinter on the other hand, is a completely different game and play style and more fun. Like I said, it's similar to GW2.
You know what? I should run a Neverwinter Nights (probably 2) campaign for the clan, and stream it. Hmmm.... Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I remember the original NWN so fondly because it was the first and last graphical MMO I played. That was enough for me, but I would probably watch some of a stream to see how things are looking these days. Now I'm tempted to fire up a MUD for the fun of it. ;-) Never did host one, just visited.
If you stream it, I'll watch Psycho. But I'm not playing it lol. If you like it you really should at least TRY Neverwinter, its a really good game and really balanced for a FTP.
I tried out the new Hunter Ranger class and it is so OP and such a blast to play! Ive been having so much fun with it.
