Apologies to Saib/Sandy if they wanted to wait to see how stable this was before abusing it. I really want to see if any perms disappear off people, in other words, abuse it ASAP.

Hey everybody! After a long time of discussing changes to Teamspeak and permissions in general, we can finally introduce a new server instance. I've barely gotten any work done, only all the channels added in and the core groups with more to come, but it's ready to be tested out, used, abused and to get everybody's thoughts on it. Like I said, we've all discussed changes that needed to come to TS, hopefully this one will be more stable (no more random disappearing groups) and more regulated.

Some things that you will notice and hopefully clear up a few things: Since we are sideboarding TS Integration for now, the core groups are basically named Council Member, Specialist, Member, Trainee. We are essentially going to pretend TS Integration works and assign people to the group they would belong to on the website. Council Member has access to everything, Specialist can essentially help moderate and control the server when we're away and things are a bit crazy, and Members have very limited control. We want everybody's opinion, so please feel free to test it and give your opinions in a calm, cool, collected, mature manner. We are really hoping this will work in the way we are intending for it too. Plus, a lot less clutter, just look at it!

Password to the {PR} Clan Members channel will be posted to the Member's Only section momentarily.

Ok so as most of you know I play Gw2 a lot. So now everytime I join the TS, I make a temporary GW2 channel in the "In Game" section? Is that how it's going to work or is that only for our servers? Or will there be a temp channel category added?

I believe that's how @Saiboogu / @Sandbag are intending for it to work - not sure, but we might be able to add in a small Temp Channel spacer or something.
  3. Saiboogu
Yeah, create a temp channel for in-game chat, when needed. If we host the server, we should make a permanent channel for it.

A spacer for temp might make it clearer.

Yeah a temp channel spacer would work better I think. We all know what servers we have already, but having a separate section to see "what players are playing right now" would be great. Would also stop people from adding permanent channels and give TS admins the hassle of having to go through and delete them. A Temp spacer would be more obvious to make temp in game channels only.

Edit: I tried deleting my reply to make it a small comment instead of a full blown post, but then it just did it again, so yeah haha.

And now its small again. Am I losing my mind?

These Frontpage News posts are kinda weird like that.

Should be set so only Council Members (save for Cryzark since he got credited for TS admin - took that as Saib wanted him to have Server Admin on it) can add permanent channels - if that happens and it empties out it'll likely get deleted, of course we still don't know exactly what to do with Twitch channels which is why I say to go talk to Sandy or Saib and talk to them about it if you want it made permanent. Anything that says 'deleted by server' or 'deleted by PR-Gaming' or whatever is just a temp channel automatically being deleted when people leave it - there SHOULD be an option to add a delay on it if whoever's in it needs to leave it for a quick sec, though Gorian might know more on how that works exactly.

I would definitely like to see a time frame "grace period" before the channel gets auto-deleted. That would be nice for going afk for a bit. I don't stream anymore, but if I were to, I would rather have to make a new channel for it - Maybe add the title of the game I'm streaming or something? Add talk power if I will need concentration? You would have to go in and add those channel settings manually before the stream so why not just make a new channel? Would be less clutter. Just a few things that came to mind.

Oh sweet! Thanks! I will assume that's minutes?

No, it should be in seconds.

Ok, and I don't have power to edit that part (it's greyed out). You may need to tweak permissions.
  11. Gorian
that would be "b_channel_modify_temp_delete_delay" I'd say, FYI. Perm is currently disabled for specialist.

Le sigh. TS never being nice and leaving perms on by default for lazy people.
