So this is going to be the absolute noob guide for beginners. Keep in mind I have NEVER played minecraft, so this guide will include some Minecraft and Tekkit tidbits from the perspective of an absolute noob that looks around more in this game than in Battlefield, for enemies. Noob Level : Ultra Noob Punch down a tree Craft planks from wood Craft some sticks from Planks Make crafting Table Craft a pick axe with the wood Craft Axe with wood Chop down OAK trees (they give apples) Dig stone Craft stone axe and pick axe Is it still light? if yes then Run away from spawn, as far as you can. If the sun looks like it is going down start digging a hole in the ground. else DIG DIG DIG! Not too big though - you dont want anything spawning in there with you. The alternative is to use your wood to build a teency tiny fortress. Atleast 2 high on all sides with just enough room for you. Spiders can still get over - but thats better than nothing. You will also be able to see when the sun is coming up. Sun is up? end Get more food. Kill everything in site and store the food for later. Oak trees give wood AND apples! *Bonuslevelsound* More running away from spawn About midafternoon DIG DIG DIG! You want a small room big enough for you and a furnace. Build a furnace (just needs stone) Burn some wood to get charcoal. Use Charcoal to make torches. PLACE TORCHES! It will prevent bad guys from getting you. Check map.tekkit.pr-gaming.net to see when the sun comes up. In the mean time. DIG! you want resources. Repeat until not afraid. WHATCH YOUR FOOD AND HEALTH. Health regens if you have a full food bar. Mobs (thats what the cool kids call the monsters) will spawn ANYWHERE that isnt lit up. Press f7 and you will have a panic attack. Enderman - tall Slenderman looking guy. DONT look at him. He will instakill you. Creepers creep. Look around at all times - NEVER let your guard down. EVER! Go back to being afraid. Holding Shift On Ladders will let you stay there Holding shift while on blocks prevents you from falling off Double tap W to run Read up on which pickaxe can mine which ores. If you use the wrong axe you will destroy the ore. Use the right tool for the job. Axes chop wood faster than picks, AND bring down a whole tree by mining one block. Shovels dig sand, dirt and gravel faster - theres more, read up. Place Torches Crafting - 4 wood planks makes a table Keep a table with you at all times. Holding left click and dragging will evenly distribute your stack over the slots you slide over. Holding righ click while doing the same will drop 1 in each slot. Right click a stack to halve it Pressing E brings up inventory - below that is a search box. You can search any item and it will show up on the right hand side. Left clicking it will show how to make it. Right clicking will show what recipes it is USED in. If you use the search under your inventory and left click the item you want to make - click the question mark. It will lay the template out over your table. Place Torches Levels - look in the top right - it has your co-ordinates and what level you're at. You're on a horse - no you're not. But they do have them. Diamonds are found mostly on levels 10 - 13 (start digging) Place Torches Tekkit is a LAUNCHER comprised of LOTS of mods. When reading up search for the modname and block name - you'll get better results. Avoid reading tekkit lite forums Avoid OLD forums "Tekkit Spotlight blockname tutorial modname" are my new favourite youtube search terms - they should be yours. Place Torches. Dont handle processed uranium - you will die Different Mobs/monsters drop different items when killed - read up. Zombie flesh can be eaten in an emergency - it will make you sick and you will lose health - but you wont starve. Zombie flesh can also be made into leather - think backpacks. Make an iron pick axe as soon as you can - you will love yourself for it. Boomerangs are an essential item. 4 planks 1 iron. Make one. Lava is hot. Place Torches. I will update this everynow and again. I'll probably rearrange it a bit and add headers for different levels of Noob.
