Just out of curiosity, is the ARK server officially closed/ waiting on updates/ on indefinite hiatus? Whatever the case, it's too bad. The server was a bunch of fun, and I'd certainly consider joining again if a new one was launched.
It was reset for a variety of reasons, but still present at ark.pr-gaming.net. The IP changed at some point recently too, so you may need to add it to your Steam favorites again. I'll try and do a writeup of the settings & mods a little later.
