So I don't get minecraft - I didn't enjoy a single second of it. But so many people I know have, or do love it. Can you guys help a sista out and explain to me what it is y'all love about this "game"?
Top 20 Reasons (Liam's top 20 Reasons) 1. I hate Minecraft, But Tekkit is the only flavor I play 2. You are PR (everyone complains that people never play together) 3. All of us admins work hard to make sure the people who play have a good time 4. Tekkit has updated and added things that increase the users playing experience 5. Tekkit or Minecraft is used in school to teach 6. You learn new things 7. There is so much to learn it challenges your mental strength 8. We need more players to help us rebuild the world and make our plans become a reality 9. Another admin would be great (my opinion) 10. Gorian works hard to keep the server in a running matter 11. You have been around a long time in this clan, surely your participation may increase other members to try out Tekkit 12. Your experience may be able to help Gorian in situations where he is unavailable (my opinion) 13. I am trying to get Gorian to take a few minutes so I can help him with some things (he is stubborn ) 14. Lots of players want to play a game where players can interact and work together, this would be a great chance to do just that 16. We have players like Endemoni that are not PR, this may help resolve the issue the other day about people that are not PR admining a PR server 17. You get to meet new people 18. We definitely get a laugh, why not share it with others? 19. Responsibility 20. ALL PEOPLE ARE WELCOME!!
The main reason why I played minecraft so much is because of the massive Faction vs Faction server I used to play on. The actual core game is extremely boring to me. Tekkit adds a lot of different things to minecraft and makes the core game fun again. There's tons of new items/blocks. But yet I still get extremely bored of the game, why is that? You need to give your self an objective to fulfil. I'm not one of those guys who is patient enough to actually finish a project 100%.
Being a sandbox, I feel like you reach the endgame and "finish" vanilla minecraft very soon. You get chests full of everything you need, and then it's just a grind to finish large project. Tekkit adds a whole lot of content while retaining the minecraft core that makes it fun. I feel that the tekkit team puts a lot of work into where tekkit is going, trying to keep out mods that don't have a future and will require major overhauls in the game (this world reset was a fluke, and something the team has tried very hard to avoid, in this case, there was just to many changes due to updated in vanilla minecraft). They also put a lot of work into making sure the mods play together nicely and things work smoothly. The amount of innovative and quality things added by mods in tekkit allow for larger projects that you could EASILY do in vanilla. For instance, wiring an entire city with daylight sensor controlled lights. You COULD do it with redstone, but it would be a pain in the ass. Rednet cables or equivalents, make it easy. We put a lot of work into making the user experience enjoyable. Dynmap that I keep updated and fix any issues with, McMyAdmin panel for easy mangement, easy-to-use and remember dns names, everything on the same port so you don't have to remember different ports At the end of the day, minecraft is a sandbox. It's not PvP oriented like starmade is, where you are trying to build up a bigger army than the next guy, it's about what cool thing can you do? As a result, instead of settings goals like "build a wood house with a bed", due to the immense scale of tekkit, your goals can be much larger, and therefor, more entertaining and satisfying. Build a large city with many building, and wire everything up to a powerplant and item network. Build a rocket launch station, and then launch a rocket to mars and build a colony there (yes, you can do that with the latest version of tekkit) There are also the small things in tekkit, that really make the game play smoother. Inventory tweaks, to automatically sort your chests and inventories, and put a new stack of the same block in your hand if you use up the stack that is currently there. WAILA (What Am I Looking At) that tells you the name of the block and what mod adds it. Not Enough Items, that lists all the items for you, and give you all the recipes, so that you don't have to remember them all, or look them up out of game. Rei's Minimap, that gives you a minimap in game, to see where you are going, and what direction (works well in tandem with dynmap). These small mods are useful enough I'd play tekkit just for them, even if it was vanilla minecraft with these small mods installed and nothing else. Great community. I really enjoy the guys who play tekkit with me. I can get burned out fast playing by myself (been there, done that. worked on a world for a week straight, every day, all day. I had just got laid off ). Having people to help you on projects and collaborate is the fun part, and the secret to playing minecraft. And the reason I put so much work into a server, instead of playing single-player.
I think you'd love it cause of all the fancy machines you can build. Judging from your factories in star-made, I think you'd enjoy making factories, and more, in Tekkit. Even I could make an auto-fisher, think of what the almighty Yandy can do!!!!!!!!!! haha
@Sandbag technically speaking you could kill another player, as long as the people agree it ok and not due by other players. and others are warned of this. (@Gorian is very savvy of this )
