So, I have a number of servers, and I'm wanting to setup a virtualization cluster. Looking for input.

    • HP DL380 G5
      • Dual quad-core xeons with hardware assisted virtualization
      • 32GBs of RAM
    • HP DL360 G5
      • Dual quad-core xeons with hardware assisted virtualization
      • 16GBs of RAM
    • Dell PowerEdge 1950
      • Dual quad-core xeons with hardware assisted virtualization
      • 8 GBs of RAM
    • 3 IBM x-345s
      • dual dual-core 32-bit xeons
      • 4GBs of RAM
Right now, I'm thinking I'll setup OpenStack, but Proxmox looks useful too. I'm not wanting to do esxi purely because I want a centrally managed cluster, and I don't have $5000 for a vcenter license.
