Ok... so, I've been meaning to upgrade to the latest video card since mine is quite old, and Michael has been trying to help me out since I have a limited space in my chassis. My current card is the Radeon HD 5770 Sapphire Juniper GT (or XT) model 1GB. The length of it is around 10.5" and I have about 1 cm from it hitting my HDD's. Something smaller in length and powerful my budget fits in $250-$350. Any opinions upon the latest R9 AMD series versus the Geforce GTX's ?? So far he found me this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127745 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130944 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127775 The last one is the Radeon card, the other 2 are GeForce. The reason why the Radeon (besides my AMD Rig), is about the Mantle ability. But I also like the fact that the GeForce cards are around 9", perfect size. What do you guys think? And any other help of video card selections is good from any of you ^__^.
Beyond the length of the GPU, does the space prevent you from upgrading to dual GPUs / are you against running two GPUs for any reason? If not, upgrading to 2x GPUs in the future, Kepler series cards win by far - they scale way better than any other GPUs out there, so if you plan on adding a second one later, definitely think of going with GTX 600 series or later. If not, really just see which cards fit the budget and space requirements and see what can get the highest FPS in games you play / most demanding games, right? That's what I do. In that respect, AMD and NVIDIA will be pretty close to each other so it'll come to personal preference and what things you value more.
