I just used putty by default for ages. Tried kitty (a branch of putty) but it isn't really very different. Tried a few different putty/kitty shell-type programs that added some extra features, but they weren't all that great. Stumbled on MobaXterm awhile back when I discovered mosh and it's the only thing I'll use on desktop now. Real simple to use, but packed with features... 80% of I haven't even touched yet, but they aren't in the way. Starts right up to a local bash-like shell on your Windows machine. ssh user@host, the standard commands are available. When you've SSHed into your server, it gives you an scp/sftp window right next to the terminal that can track a different folder or follow your terminal path. Tabbed interface. Even has a built in X server, though I don't have any remote machines with X windows to test that out on. It's one of those free for personal / paid business things. You're limited in the number of SSH tunnels you can run on the free (2 or 3 I think - I just fire up putty.exe for tunnels the rare times I need one) and when the terminal is idle it does some screensaver thing you can't disable on free.. But that hasn't been a hassle for me. When I can afford it I'll probably buy a license, because I dig it so far. Server maintenance day. Building new web and game servers, cleaning and organizing things around here a bit.
